The event has seen the participation of 120 delegates representing 8 European cities (Barcelona, Berlin, Bordeaux, Hamburg, Liverpool, Mannheim, Valencia and Växjö), 7 Chinese provinces (Anhui, Guangdong, Guangxi, Henan, Hunan, Qinghai and Shandong), 9 Chinese municipalities (Changzhou, Guilin, Hefei, Luoyang, Nanjing, Qingdao, Weihai, Zhuhai and Zhuzhou), representatives from local and provincial academies and research centers, European and Chinese experts.

On March 23rd, 2018, EC-Link Project will participate to International conference: “The blue challenges and opportunities: from strategy into action - LABIRYNTH OF WATERS”, to be held in Parma (Italy). Ms. Dai Guowen, Deputy-Director of EC-LINK Project (Europe-China Eco Cities Cooperation Project) and Director of International Cooperation Center, China Eco City Academy (CECA) will deliver a speech on “Water Management in Chinese Cities: Policies and Cases”. The aim of this International Conference is to focus on the sub-national and national governments policies in relation to the climate change actions linked to the water management resources: water scarcity, flooding and extreme natural events. National and international governments will share their visions, values, goals and strategies in the morning session while the afternoon session will be dedicated to the presentation of case studies and concrete experiences of governance models in different sectors and territorial areas.

On April 2-3, 2018, EC-Link Project will participate to International conference The Fourteenth International Conference on Green and Energy-Efficient Building & New Technologies and Products Expo to be held in Zhuhai in the International Convention & Exhibition Center. EC-Link Project, on April 3rd 2018, will host a Forum on Green Building entitled: “Europe-China Forum on Eco-City and Energy Efficiency Innovations”. During the event, high level European and Chinese speakers will introduce and share practical experience of ongoing EU-China International Programs in Green Building Sector and will also provide practical examples of European best practices within the sector (the agenda is attached). Launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the annual “International Conference on Green and Energy-efficient Building & New Technologies and Products Expo” has proved to be an increasing success through 13 years development. With more and more supports from around the world, now the IGEBC has ranked the most influential event with the largest scale in the green building industry in China, and sees each year over 3000 participants, including more than 300 high-ranking officials, renowned experts and specialists, along with more than 300 exhibitors at home and abroad.

The objective of the forum is to establish a network of cities, expertise and financing institutions that will collaborate in implementing the green investments needed under the 13th Five Year Plan. It is envisaged that the network will support the Chinese Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MoHURD) and cities to develop, pilot, disseminate and scale up the needed green city financing guidelines, project development and structuring tools, funding arrangements, and financial instruments. At the forum a wide range of Chinese and international institutions with expertise in financing green urban development will provide their insights into how to develop and implement these projects.
